| The Academic Management Team
consists of the deans, associate and assistant deans, and several
administrative staff members of each school/college. The term is used to
describe this group of academic administrators who come together for
monthly planning and policy meetings.
The group convenes on an as-needed basis; there are no formal
mechanism in place to get this group together regularly. However, when
this group of administrators, along with the staff of the Office of the
Provost, convene for academic planning retreats. Too often the deans
were in a position of having to marshal information back and forth to
others in their office. The Provost's office came to realize that this process was
inefficient and, at times, ineffective so we decided to see if we could
"close the loop" and bring everyone together once a month. |
