External Review Resolution

At its meeting on Dec. 12^th, the Faculty Senate voted to approve the proposal of the following amendments to the Faculty Guide concerning external review for tenure and promotion: ONLY at the dept. level).  External Review would be contingent upon these:  

(1) a 3-3 course load as standard for all faculty;

(2) an increase in faculty travel money [equal to 4% of average faculty salary];

(3) University Research Council/Faculty Development to be funded at a rate based on two things:

a] 30% of all full-time faculty to be funded at the level of a 3-credit summer course, and

b] URC/Faculty Dev Committee to be appointed by the Senate, not the provost.       

The approved motion will now be forwarded to the provost for his response.
